Animal Pharma is a palatable chewables manufacturer based in Australia, supporting brands from formulation and samples through pilot batches, stability programs, QA and manufacturing.

Animal Pharma began in the early 2000s when Dr. Marie Rowe BVSc. and David Rowe decided to expand on their successful small animal treats business, Vet’s Best Products and Love’em Liver Treats. They saw an opportunity to transform the administration of medication to dogs, making it more palatable and less stressful.

Animal Pharma’s breakthrough came with Bayer’s Drontal Chewables, a product that exemplifies our commitment to improving pet health care.

Our unique technology enables Animal Pharma to incorporate multiple active pharmaceutical ingredients into a tasty treat that dogs can’t resist.

Animal Pharma has partnered with companies, both locally and internationally, to expand product lines and extend the life of existing brands. The development pipeline is exploring opportunities in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and parasiticide sectors using protein based or vegetarian flavours. Animal Pharma is eager to continue forging partnerships and creating solutions that redefine animal health.

Meet The Team

Dr Marie Rowe

BVSc. MSc. – Managing Director

After 10 years working in both large and small animal veterinary practices, Marie developed a liver treats range as a response to her interest in dog behaviour with Vet’s Best Products and Love’em Liver Treats blossoming into a successful treats business in veterinary clinics and supermarkets throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

With 30 years experience in product development across both the treats and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors, Marie has an extensive knowledge regarding formulating a wide range of actives into a palatable treat for cats and dogs.

Marie has always had a strong focus on quality assurance as well as running efficient and responsive manufacturing systems. In 2018, David and Marie sold their treats business to focus their time on expanding the veterinary pharmaceutical and nutraceutical chewable business.

David Rowe

Director

Graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and with his keen sense for business grew Marie’s idea from a benchtop concept into a highly successful Fast Moving Consumer Goods business. Growing and developing business is his passion.

Andrew Mason

Director

Andrew has over 40 years’ experience working across the animal health industry. He brings significant local and international experience developing small and large animal products, businesses, and partnerships across the Oceana, Asian, LATAM and Sub Sahara markets.

Kylie Martin

Production Manager

Kylie has over 30 years’ experience in various manufacturing and quality leadership roles in the food, pharmaceutical and animal health industries.

Kylie’s expertise in food and product safety management systems ensures the highest level of quality and compliance with GMP. Her continued focus on product innovations in animal health makes her a valued member of our research and development team.
